FAQ
Frequently asked questions
-
Do you accept Insurance?
I accept HSA/FSA cards. Sometimes insurance companies will reimburse the cost of services with a super bill, which I am happy to provide.
-
Will treatment be painful?
No pain, no gain is definitely not the right approach when it comes to massage therapy. The goal should always be to use detailed pressure that may cause some discomfort, but should not be overly intense. I always strive to ensure that my clients experience the "good sore" feeling, and I'm always open to adjusting the pressure if they feel it's too much.
-
Do I have to take my clothes off?
You can dress down to your comfort level. I will provide sheets and blankets to cover you during the massage. There are some massage techniques that work well if you want to remain clothed, so it may be beneficial to arrive wearing comfortable stretchy clothing.
-
What'll happen at my first treatment?
I require all clients to fill out a health history and Covid intake form to let me know about any current concerns, goals, and state vaccination status.
I require all new clients to have a pre and post discussion with their initial treatment, to discuss assesment and further action plan.
-
What if I need the bathroom?
I recommend going to the bathroom before your session, but it can occasionally happen that you'll need to go during the massage. I want you to be relaxed, so if you're focusing on holding it in, it’ll interfere with your experience. So do speak up, and I'll get you a robe and let you know where the bathroom is.
-
Should I talk to the therapist during my treatmeant?
I work fairly quietly, as I am focusing on your soft tissue. I may ask questions to get a better understanding as I’m assessing. Some people prefer to chat during their treatment, but don't feel you have to make conversation. If you want to close your eyes and relax, that’s alright.
-
I’m self-conscious about ___. What should I do?
We all have parts of our bodies we're self-conscious about. Some areas you may be concerned about are:
Your weight
Unwanted body hair
Scars
Acne or other skin blemishes
Please don't let this stop you from getting treatment. If you're sensitive about a particular area, ask them to avoid it or we can work over the clothing or massage sheets. You can also opt for a fully clothed massage. Whatever your concerns, know that I am supportive and judgment-free.
-
What if I pass gas during the treatment?
When you're in a relaxed state, you might pass gas during your massage. It may even occur when a therapist applies direct pressure to a particular area.
Any massage therapist will let you know this is normal and just shows you're relaxed. You'll get zero judgment from this therapist. If you can't bear to let it happen, just excuse yourself to go to the bathroom.
-

Speak up if:
You're feeling hot or cold
You're in pain
You’re experiencing neuro-referrals like tingling
You have questions, or you forgot to mention something important during the consultation
